“Impresarios and Visionaries” documentary film
“A community film for every community.”
‘Impresarios and Visionaries’ is a documentary that celebrates Indie theatre founders Vic Skolnick and Michael Rothbard chronicling their contributions to the arts and community. They were pioneers in bringing city quality film and music to suburbia with their theaters Cinema Arts Centre and Inter-Media Arts Center.
Our film explores the apex where presenter, performer and audience join forces and fosters creativity, community and possibility. The impact of indie film and music with its diverse voices are examined. I & V celebrates the positive impact. The arts and its connective tissue with philanthropy and social justice are featured storylines.
Interviews with an array of wonderful storytellers create the narrative that fosters connection. Ed Burns – actor/filmmaker, David Bromberg – musician, John Platt – NPR musical director and Disc Jockey, Sandy Chapin – activist and poet (widow of the late Harry Chapin) Herb Deutsch – musician, inventor and teacher, Paule Pachter – former CEO of Long Island Cares and many others offer their illuminating insights.
Impresarios and Visionaries has an original musical soundtrack that features stellar New York artists.
